1. Will my loved one be living in a safe and secure environment?
Yes: We understand that your loved one’s safety is a priority and our desire
is to manage their safety while respecting their privacy. Our Communities
are staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Our care staff perform frequent
“wellness
checks” for all residents living in our assisted living. Inside each apartment
are two intercoms—one in the bathroom and one in the bedroom—that can be
used to summon our care staff should assistance be needed. Only the front
doors
are unlocked for use after business hours, and we have an extensive private
camera system monitoring the hallways and common areas.
2. Does the building layout encourage socialization and building community?
Yes: Our philosophy is not to segregate according to demographic,
but to facilitate activity and to build community. Activity,
recreation and socialization
are important components of life within our communities, and
the facilities are designed with those components in mind. All
of the congregation areas,
including the Great Room, Chapel, Hobby Room, Day Room and Dining
Rooms, are clustered front and center of the facility. There
are
no separate gathering
areas or rooms in each hall. While we may have alcoves, these
are architectural designs for convenience to the residents and
families. We encourage all
residents to gather as one “family” when socializing or participating
in activities.
3. Will the care my loved one receives be given in a respectful manner that promotes
their dignity?
Yes: At TrinityCare, we believe it is important that your loved
one receive the care they need, yet it is equally important
that their care be provided in a
respectful, dignified manner. We encourage residents to make everyday choices
(such as meal options, activities and wardrobe) independently, even if they
are receiving assisted living care. We believe that our residents
should be active
and involved in the community, and that we should be the catalyst for their
improvement physically, emotionally, socially, and spiritually.
4. Is the facility’s pride in appearance evident on the interior as well as the
exterior?
Yes: This is our residents’ home, and we want them to take pride in living here.
Constant attention is given to the grounds and the physical appearance
of the building, inside and out. We want to provide our residents with
an environment that is as warm and welcoming as possible, so our communities
have been Professional decorated and furnished with comfort in mind. Upon
entering the facility, your loved one will be greeted by our Great Room’s
tasteful décor and relaxing music. We also take great pride in keeping
our facility clean and pleasant at all times. With thoughtful amenities
our fireplace, barbeque pit and other outdoor amenities, we feel our facility
offers the kind of environment in which your loved one can flourish. We
recognize that cost is always a significant issue, and thus we work hard
to maintain a balance between affordability and extravagance.
5. Beyond the standard care that you provide, do you also address my loved one’s
spiritual needs?
Yes: We recognize that with senior adults, their faith has been an important
part of their life. Therefore, part of our Mission Statement
is the phrase Enriching Faith. We have a chaplain who ministers to residents & families as needed. It is not uncommon to have non-denominational Bible studies,
and of course worship services on Wednesday and Sunday provided
by multiple local churches. In addition to this, we have a ministerial
advisory board
comprised of some of the most influential churches in the community,
who meet quarterly to discuss ways to strengthen bond between facility
and
local churches. We have several church projects undertaken by
these members as a ministry to our residents. Our staff view their job
as a ministry,
and often choose to voluntarily participate in staff devotional
time, as well as expressing their faith when requested by our residents
on a daily
basis. Ministers are welcome, deacon visits are encouraged, and
interaction between our facility and the local church is paramount in
evaluating our
effectiveness.
6. Does the staff truly care about the residents, or is this just a job?
Yes: We believe we have a devoted, committed, and caring staff and many have
been with us since inception. Our turnover rate is far below the national
average. Our entire staff whether it is management, maintenance, kitchen,
activities, or housekeeping work diligently to get to know the resident
beyond just their respective departments. This is not just a business,
but a passion. It is not uncommon for our employees and management to have
family members in Trinity Oaks, which represents the highest level of commitment.
It is our belief that our service to our residents, goes far beyond just
a job but a life calling to care for seniors.
7. Is there varied and frequent activities available?
Yes: We obviously have the “classics” like bingo, Uno®, Skipbo ®, checkers, shuffle
board, board games, chess, and dominoes—because our residents love
them—but we also have plenty of other significant activities like fishing,
kite
flying, mystery trips, auctions (where residents spend their “funny
money’ earned through various activities—very popular), musicians and
singers,
outings to restaurants. We have large annual events on Holidays
and special functions like our Senior Prom and Mother’s Day Luncheons,
etc. We combine
weekly favorites with an ever changing variety of activities, which
often involve volunteers from the community and church groups leading
in the event.
8. Do we view the Senior Living community as the residents’ home?
Yes: We encourage the residents to personalize their room, to make their living
environment as comfortable as possible. We believe this is their home and
assist them in their decorating as needed. We constantly are upgrading
the physical attributes of the property to ensure that we are exceeding
the resident’s expectations. We encourage clubs and societies to become
a part of the activities process, so the resident does not experience significant
change when re-acclimating to a new environment. Our goal is to be family-friendly.
We recognize the difficulty of the family in communicating due to time/location
with many families across town or even thousands of miles from our facility,
so we work hard to maintain family involvement. We are constantly upgrading
our family communication system, which includes a digital component to
ensure effective, frequent communication.
9. Do you work to keep my loved one connected to the local community?
Yes: We have weekly trips to the local pharmacy, grocery store, physician offices,
YMCA, library, and other outings. We actively participate in parades, fireworks
displays and other community activities. In addition to these, we have
a local pet ministry and close ties to the local school systems, and church
schools. It is not unusual for our residents to have approved volunteers
playing games, or entertaining our residents.
10. Are your rates competitive and your pricing structure easy-to-understand?
Yes: We have a very simple rate structure, and we constantly maintain competitive
rates. Our pricing is easy to understand and we do not have a la carte
or hidden fees. We strive to ensure that our rates remain at or below the
median in the market, while providing service and amenities which exceed
what is expected.
